The Children’s Health Coalition is a collective of Ontario children’s health organizations, including CHEO, Children’s Hospital – London Health Sciences Centre, Children’s Mental Health Ontario, Empowered Kids Ontario, Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, Kids Health Alliance, McMaster Children’s Hospital and SickKids.

Our Members

Dedicated to the best life for every child and youth, CHEO is a global leader in pediatric health care and research. Based in Ottawa, CHEO includes a hospital, children’s treatment centre, school and research institute, with satellite services located throughout Eastern Ontario. CHEO provides excellence in complex pediatric care, research and education. We are committed to partnering with families and the community to provide exceptional care — where, when and how it’s needed. CHEO is a partner of the Kids Come First Health Team, a network of partners in Eastern Ontario working to create a high quality, standardized and coordinated system for pediatric health care that is centred around children, youth and their families. Every year, CHEO helps more than 500,000 children and youth from Eastern Ontario, western Quebec, Nunavut and Northern Ontario.

Children’s Hospital at London Health Sciences Centre, in London, Ontario is a world-class hospital with the latest technology and the best specialists, scientists and health professionals in Canada. As a regional referral centre, we provide specialized paediatric inpatient and outpatient services to children in Southwestern Ontario from birth through to age 18. Our hospital, staff and physicians are committed to patient and family-centred care and are recognized for providing specialized services and a multi-disciplinary approach to the care of children and their families. Serving a population of 1.5 million, with over 400,000 children, Children’s Hospital is a major centre for medical research. It also serves as a teaching hospital for physicians, nurses and other health professionals, and has an active continuing medical education program.

Children’s Mental Health Ontario (CMHO) is the association representing Ontario’s public providers of infant, child and youth mental health services. Our nearly 100 member organizations operate in every region of the province, providing treatment and support to infants, children, youth and families. Services include targeted prevention, early intervention, short- and long-term counselling and therapy, addictions services, intensive services and acute care. With the combined strength of our members, partners, youth and families, our primary goal is to promote a coordinated and high performing system of care that puts children, youth, and families first, so that young people get the mental health supports they need to thrive.

Empowered Kids Ontario represents Ontario’s child development and rehabilitation agencies, which provide services and programs to more than 150,000 kids every year, at home, in schools and in the community. EKO members care for kids with childhood disabilities; kids with developmental disabilities—physical, cognitive and communication; kids who are recovering from illness or injury; and kids with complex care needs including cerebral palsy, autism, FASD, and Down syndrome and other neurodisabilities.

Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital believes in creating a world where all youth and children belong. We are the only children’s rehabilitation hospital in Canada focused on combining world-class care, transformational research, and academic leadership in the field of pediatric disability. We are a top 40 Canadian research hospital that is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto. Providing both inpatient and outpatient services, Holland Bloorview is renowned for its expertise in co-creating with clients and families to provide exceptional care and is the only organization to ever achieve 100 per cent in three successive quality surveys by Accreditation Canada. Holland Bloorview is a founding member of Kids Health Alliance, a network of partners working to create a high quality, consistent and coordinated approach to pediatric health care that is centred around children, youth and their families. Kids Health Alliance is a not-for-profit network of partners working to create a child- and family-centred, high quality, consistent, coordinated approach to pediatric care. Our goal is to achieve a better child, youth and family experience, improve health outcomes and generate greater value. Kids Health Alliance was founded in 2017 by The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital (Holland Bloorview) and CHEO.

McMaster Children’s Hospital is home to the fastest-growing kids-only emergency department in Canada, one of the country’s most advanced neonatal intensive care units, and a range of programs and clinics with unique expertise in a number of areas including children’s cancer, digestive diseases, interventional radiology, and child and youth mental health. Based in Hamilton, Ontario, it is recently ranked in the Top 5 elite pediatric teaching hospitals in the Canada, serving children and families across a region of 2.5 million
